CONGRATULATIONS to Ryan Benjamin, HOD Performing Arts, for receiving the award for the Best Director in the 2017 Showdown Awards.  
We were lucky enough to receive six nominations in all in only our second year of involvement in this competition.  An awesome achievement.  These nominations were as follows:
  • Best Leading Female in a Play – Samantha Iosefo-Vao as Peter Burton in Niu Sila
  • Best Supporting Female in a Play – Otolose Finau as Mrs Tafioka/Mr Patel Snr in Niu Sila
  • Best Supporting Female in a Play – Lea Anae as Ioane Tafioka/Sr Angela in Niu Sila
  • Best Supporting Female in a Play – Galuafe Punuauga as Ms Hagan in Niu Sila
  • Best Sound Design – Ryan Benjamin
We were also up for the overall awards which all shows are considered for, including:
• People’s Choice
• Best Play
• Best Overall Production 2017
