Y13 Leadership Camp 2011

This year our Year 13 leaders for 2011 participated in Camp ELIJAH - Empowerment, Leadership, Identity, Justice, Advocacy, Honesty.  Leadership Camp was an opportunity for students to acknowledge their individual gifts and realise the significance of their role this year as leaders of the school.  They were put into groups and pariticipaed in various acticities, each with its own challenges.  Most of the activities emphasised leadership qualities - Trust, Team work, Encouragement and Support.  Many girls were pushed to their limites, especially in activities like high ropes and low ropes, where they were made to coimb up the high beam, or fall back into the hands of other group members.  Team work was evident in activities like kayaking, raft-building and problem solving.  They reflected on aims and goals for 2011 and on the last night as a way of accepting the challenges and leadership for 2011, washed each other's hands, their pledge to serve the school and be an example for the future leaders of the school.
