In Year 9 and 10 you will be introduced to the key concepts and skills used in literary analysis. You will read a variety of challenging and engaging novels, learn to study film, and develop your critical and creative capacities.

 

Senior English

English (11ENG)
Leads directly to Year 12 English. This course involves studying written and visual texts, writing creatively and formally, and completing a personal reading programme. Year 11 students can join in various co-curricular activities, some of which offer extra credits.

The Year 12 English course leads directly to Year 13 English. The course involves studying and analysing written and visual texts. There are three internal assessments: making connections between texts, information literacy and presenting a selection of crafted writing.

English (13ENG)
Students enter this course from 12 English. The course involves studying and developing critical responses to written and visual texts. There are three internal assessments: making connection, close viewing and using critical sources. Most popular tertiary courses either require Level 3 English or regard it as highly desirable.
